The Growing Hunger Crisis

In 2022, Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank was a lifeline for 1,000 people each month. Since January 2023, that number has doubled to over 2,000 individuals and families in desperate need. The hunger crisis in our community is growing, and we need your help to address it.

Last year, we sourced 80% of our food through donations, but this year, due to rising demand, we’re purchasing 80% of the food we distribute. Behind these statistics are the stories of local people struggling to put food on the table, keep their homes warm, and afford basic household items. As the need continues to surge, our commitment to providing assistance remains unwavering.

Our Mission and Vision: Beyond Food, Towards a Hunger-Free Future

At Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, we go beyond simply providing sustenance. We offer a 10-meal, 3-day emergency parcel of basic food and toiletries for just £30 per person, all the while maintaining compassion and dignity. We greet every guest with a warm beverage, friendly conversation, and the freedom to choose items for their food parcel.

But our mission extends further. We’re committed to addressing the root causes of hunger and preventing future crises. By partnering with Citizens Advice and a network of local agencies, we provide comprehensive support to our clients. We believe in not just feeding hungry bellies today but also in creating a hunger-free future.

We dream of a future without food banks, where no one in Hammersmith and Fulham goes to bed hungry. But right now, we face a cost-of-living crisis, and we need your support to keep our community fed.
